Taipei Zoo 台北動物園

After a visit to Taipei 101, we headed to the Taipei Zoo. I did not read any information about the Zoo but only how to reach it.  But it turned out to be a fantastic experience. We saw many animals, from local to international. Yes, there are animals which only exist in selected countries. Among all, I like most the Koala bear which is unique and from Australia.

The visit began with butterflies of different species. The most impressive is decay food was put openly and it was common to see butterflies laying on the deteriorated fruit to suck the nutrients.  It is actually a bit scary.  Not only butterflies were attracted but grasshopper and other insects too.

I don't know where to start as there are many different animals.  Let's start with those lonesome ones. Appreciate them with your eyes.  I trust no description is needed.

Apart from the big and obvious ones, there are owl, eagle, bird living on their own.  But no nice shots taken.  Let's move on to those gregarious animals.  Some shots many show only one animal of the specie but they were actually in groups.

Crab-eating Mongoose

Malayan Tapir
Formosan Serow

Red Panda

We spent some nice hours there. As we still planned for Maokong, we had say our sweet goodbye to the cute animals and took the cable car at the other end of the Zoo to the next destination.
