Trezzo sull' Adda

After the visit to the roofed belvedere of the Palazzo Lombardia, Milan in the morning and consumption of sumptuous homemade ginger pear muffins, we headed to Trezzo sull'Adda. It is located 30 km northeast of Milan. We parked near an enormous church, S. Gervaso e Protaso, dated from 15th century. Inside is Giotto frescoes - Crucifix. Unfortunately we could not see it as our visit was on a Sunday afternoon.
Nearby is a milk machine. First, I paid 20 cents to get a bottle. Then I inserted 50 cents for 500ml milk. Just place the bottle under the tap. Milk freshly produced in the morning was then in my stomach. Rich flavour!
We arrived at the Town Villa. It is in the late Renaissance style. Today, it is the town library and surrounded by a large park with a view of Adda down under.
From there we walked towards a bridge via the cafe of Villa Appiani (Best Western group nowadays). There was busy traffic at the bridge. From there, you can have a superb view of the Visconti Castle, the river, an overhanging bridge, a church on the opposite shore. All compose as a beautiful picture of the nature and architecture.
A friend felt sick of the height and went to the Visconti Castle first. Not only as one of the 'wonders' of Trezzo it is also the symbol of the city. It was built in 1300. The square tower was added in 1400. Entrance fee is €3. Families enjoyed sunshine and ice cream at the castle park.
We descended to the river side. Families, friends dotted the path. A bright yellow house with reflection in the river, green hills and trees, blue of the river. It's gorgeous! Walking forward will take you to the Central Taccani, a classic industrial built in an elegant Art Nouveau style in 1906 by Gaetano Moretti Milan Polytechnic. It is used for energy production. The interior can be visited with guided tours, the first Sunday of the month (except January and August) by the Pro Loco of Trezzo.

Loco of Trezzo. On the day of our visit there was a big party along the river path. Big trucks were shown. A band was playing music. Food and drinks stalls were held up. People were sitting, eating and enjoying the food and atmosphere. Near the shore were a duck mother and her babies. They were so sweet and cute!
